Characteristics of the works

• Yosegi Dukuri
Yosegi Dukuri is a traditional Japanese technique which is used for old Japanese Buddhist images. This is to carve each parts separately and unite them, but it is hard to find where the union is.

 

• Half transparent coloring
The works are colored with pale colors over and over so that you can see chisel tracks and grains in them.

 

• Molding of human nature
Expression of a face and hands is one of the same main themes as an old sculpture.
